Trevor’s 2023 Pivot Firebird
I aimed to build a sub 35 pound enduro bike with plenty of travel and a coil shock. I chose the Firebird as the suspension is so pedal friendly but also plenty active and comfortable for my aging body. To keep the weight down I went with DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs with Sapim’s D-light spokes, and because Pivot frames tend to be on the stiffer side of the spectrum I went with the shallow TR37 rims. I tried some bourbon graphics at first which was a nice compliment to the frame, but in the end I swapped those out for colour matched metallic orange to go with the stem and a grey overlay to tone things down a bit.

Stem
The Industry Nine A35 stem is super classy looking and has a great strength to weight ratio. Coupled with the higher rise One Up carbon bar, I should get a bit more comfort than the low ride bar in theory, plus it looks more bad ass.
Dropper: One Up
I run a 240mm One Up components dropper which is such a nice advantage for when the trails get crazy steep, you can just get the seat completely out of the way.
Bottle Cage
Check out the titanium bottle cage by King Cage, these classy up any bike! I think this is the 10th bike this same cage has been on? A friend of mine has had his for like 20 years or so and it’s halfway worn through but still does the job. So satisfying.
