Syd & Macky Crush The K2N
K2N Stage Race: Tanzania
Syd and I just got back from the K2N stage race in Tanzania which took us from the slopes of Kilimanjaro to the shores of Lake Natron over the course of 5 days. We were joined by our good friends, Lo and Joe, and it was definitely one of the coolest and most unique races we have ever done.
We saw giraffes, wildebeest, ostriches, zebras and a variety of gazelles/antelopes WHILE RACING, but the highlight (or lowlight, depending on who you ask) was Syd and Joe coming face-to-face with a bull elephant — fortunately it was as surprised as they were and ran AWAY instead of OVER them. 🐘 🦒 🦓 🦌

To make things even more interesting, we decided to switch things up and swap spouses (just for the racing 🤣). So Syd and Joe raced together since they are well-matched speed-wise and Lo and I raced together. Fortunately the race allowed towing so Lo and I were able to use the TowWhee tow rope to give Syd and Joe a run for their money.
After five days of solid racing, Syd and Joe came out on top (winning all but one stage, which we won) and our two teams posted the fastest times of the entire race.
Overall, K2N was an incredible experience and we’d definitely recommend adding it to your bucket list!
