Victoria’s Transition Scout

I selected the Scout due to it being a great all rounder for my needs. I instruct mountain biking so I require a bike that can be very versatile as I have just one mountain bike in my shed. I could be leading a gang of nine-year-olds, racing enduro or ripping laps on a gravity fed trail all in one week which is a mighty task, but the Scout is up for the challenge.

I had a Norco Sight prior to this with the same SRAM NX build kit and it was a super reliable do it all build. I transitioned to the Scout because I ride a lot and needed a work horse that was easy to maintain, but still playful and enjoyable when things get rough. I love getting down rocky and technical trails smoothly and the Scout’s got a fun playful feeling with its 27.5″ TR37 wheels!

Featured Components

Mud Guard

Mud Guard: The Ink Bike

Ink Bike mud guards are a great local product made from locally sourced recycled plastics. I went with purple sparkle to match my custom metallic graphics on my wheels and frame.

Custom Frame Graphics

Graphics: NOBL Wheels

I love the classy black finish and my own custom purple highlights that the NOBL graphics team helped me create to cover up the original root beer brown that came stock on the frame.

Bike Armor

Bike Protection: NOBL + AMS

NOBL collaborated with AMS Honeycomb to create some Vancouver Island style bike protection!

Wheelset

I selected the TR37 due to being a very versatile rim, it climbs well and descends even better. The front and rear specific rims help keep the rear planted and the front light and playful.

The Project 321 hubs were attractive with its slick styling and interesting magnetically actuated, ratchet drive system which rolls so smooth. D-light spokes are sturdy and comfortable option for my weight and the purple nipples to keep things fun, gotta have fun!
