VANCAN’s 2025 Knolly Fugitive
“This is the new Gen 6 Knolly Fugitive. I wanted a bike that made climbing easier but could still handle everything the Sea-to-Sky throws at it. It’s the perfect all-around BC bike!
I’ll be using this bike as an excuse to climb more, riding local zones like Burke in Coquitlam or taking on Lord of the Squirrels in Whistler, on top of the North Shore classics.”

WHEELSET
Rims: 29″ TR37s
Hubs: Onyx Vesper, Silver
6-bolt, 32, boost
Spokes + Nipples: Sapim Race spokes, Sapim black alloy nipples
“I’m running the TR37s paired with a set of silver Onyx Vesper hubs. This is my go-to setup, these wheels are ready for anything the shore has to offer, and the Onyx hubs provide instant engagement without making a sound.
I’ve built this Fugitive to be tough and silent, and this configuration hits that mark.”
The do-it-all bike: really, though.

All about the angles
“I upped the fork to 160mm – I think there’s a law that says anything under that is XC. This Marzocchi Bomber is is from last year and found it’s perfect home on this Fugitive.”
“I also run a Switch Grade on the dropper to adjust my saddle position – again, to make climbing even easier. These nifty devices are made by Aenomoly Constructs, a great company out of Whistler, BC.”
But how did it get here?
Nic not only hand-selected the parts for this custom Fugitive build, he also put the bike together!
