Rachel’s Pivot Shuttle SL-AM E-MTB

“Dipping my toe into the world of e-bikes, I wanted a bike that was light enough for me to handle confidently, that fit perfectly, and all-in-all, just felt really comfortable.

I chose this 2025 Pivot Shuttle SL-AM, a lighter, mid-travel model that has exactly what I need. After trying a medium size in the past with a super short stem, I decided to go for a small frame so I could run a 50mm stem and keep a similar riding position. The added standover clearance is appreciated, and I might even be able to run a 210mm One Up dropper now!

At just under 40 lbs, I don’t have to muscle it around, and I’m able to do three-hour rides on the main battery and have the 250W bottle-cage-mounted Range Extender for bigger days!”

Wheelset

“The “SLAM” is a surprisingly quiet bike with the Bosch motor, so I decided to throw on some TR37 wheels with Industry Nine Hydra hubs to keep the pedestrians aware.

We happened to have this one, last set of superboost, Anodized Purple Hydra 1.0 hubs on hand at the shop: that they’re a perfect match to the purple stem, it seemed like they were meant to be!”

Stem + Bar combo

Stem: Industry Nine A35 50mm

“I love the combination of the stiffer i9 stem but the softer feel of the One Up carbon bars, so that was a carry-over from another build.”

Flat pedals

Pedals: OneUp Composite Pedals, black

“I’m still getting used to the flat pedals, but they provide more confidence than my clips when navigating rough terrain. The OneUp composite pedals are a low investment, so I’ll stick with these for now. “
