Introducing the Hydra2

The Hydra2 is here to usher in a new generation of bombproof performance. With thoughtful engineering upgrades and material improvement, the cult-classic hub is now better than ever.
Durability or Bust
Durability was the absolute top priority when Industry Nine engineers designed the Hydra2, using data gleaned from hundreds of thousands of Hydra users worldwide. The Hydra2 systematically eliminates potential failure points to provide the most reliable Hydra hub ever, with quicker engagement, less drag, and the covetable sound that riders love.

Inside the Hydra 2
- Quicker 0.41° engagement and 60% less coasting drag than its predecessor.
- Three teeth per pawl and a 145-tooth drivering, serving to increase engagement to 870 points by design
- A 65% thicker axle, redesigned to dissipate stress more effectively.
- A new, foolproof design ensures consistent bearing preload regardless of variations in axle tightness.
- Larger, 5.5mm pawl pockets prevent pocket stretch, better dissipating force by 26%.
- Tougher drive ring materials and an extra tooth on each pawl.
- Larger 6903 bearings throughout, that are precisely preloaded during assembly.
- A new full-contact radial lip seal keeps elements out, preventing premature bearing wear.

Performance under power
The Hydra2 shrugs-off extreme use by demanding riders – from the aggressive speed and maneuvers of freeriders to the torque of the most powerful e-bike motors – without sacrificing the meaningful performance gains of the low drag and high engagement expected of the Hydra platform.
a new look
In addition to the internal improvements, the Hydra 2 hubs feature new scalloped flanges. These not only add flair but also more evenly distribute stress loads across the hub shell.
Hydra 2 hubs are available in both 6-bolt and Centerlock, 28h and 32h, and in hubs standards compatible with most mountain bikes, dirt jumpers and e-bikes. Riders can choose from the twelve anodized colours in the i9 range.
