Victoria’s 2021 Norco Sight A1

I bought my first mtb in 2008 from my small town bike shop. It was a Norco Bigfoot, which I actually still have today. When I dusted off the Bigfoot 5 years ago and learned how to mtb that summer, I was hooked. I got my first full suspension, the 2018 Norco Sight, the following year.

When I was looking to upgrade my bike this season, Norco wasn’t the only brand I was interested in. But with the updated geometry & price point, it’s a hard bike to beat! For me, the Sight does it all, they pedal great and descend even better. I enjoy downhill/enduro style riding and I want my ride to be tailored to descending while also making the climb as painless as possible, so I am always keen to head up for another lap! The Sight holds its own in all technical and rough terrain but it’s still pretty playful. My new Sight compared to the older version was something to get used to, with a bigger frame and bigger wheels, but having it feel more like my downhill bike is a game changer!

Bike Check

I went with a whole new build this season and being fairly new to the mountain bike world, I’m excited to be testing a lot of new components including my carbon hoops!

Mudguard

Something I haven’t gone without is a unique mud guard. I’m a sucker for a slick black bike with simple highlights in the details. I love The Ink Bike custom recycled mudguards and it’s just a bonus that they are made from all local plastic waste.

Wheelset

I chose the all mountain TR37 rims because they are the best balance between strength and compliance. They are the ultimate do it all & do it well rim! I can ride bike park laps all day or spend a day in the XC trail network. For the hubs, I was immediately drawn to the silent Onyx Vespers and experiencing that quiet ride while also choosing from a big collection of custom colors. I am pretty smitten with the custom Battleship Grey! The best part is they roll so much faster than anything else I have ever ridden.
