Trevor’s 2022 Specialized Stumpjumper

Having loved my Transition Spur, I wanted to try something with a bit more travel but without adding much/any weight. The Stumpy also has a flex pivot and has the same frame weight as the Spur but with more travel. With increasing rear travel from 120 to 130mm and going from 120 to a 140mm fork, I’ll feel more at home on longer distance rides with rougher trails. This will be my “off season” build with burlier tires and some heavier parts than I’d normally run. For XC/Marathon mode, I hope to get back down to 25-ish pounds in the spring.

I’ve been riding the TR32‘s for a year and wanted to contrast the feel of those with a deeper and stiffer rim. So I chose the TR33‘s this time around paired to the fast rolling and completely silent Onyx Vesper hubs.
