Russell’s 2023 Cervélo Soloist
I was looking for a road bike with aggressive race oriented geometry, some aero features, and hidden cables (it looks so clean). Despite being road focused the build also needed to be capable of some light gravel riding on occasion. With room for tires up to 34c and an integrated cable system that allowed me to still play with stem length and bar width, the Cervélo checked all the boxes for what I was looking for.

I always swap to SQ Labs saddles. They are hands down the comfiest saddle I have used.
Wheelset
I mostly ride rolling to flat roads so the aero benefits of the CR45 were an easy choice. The feel and quality of Chris King hubs is unmatched, and who doesn’t love that Chris King buzz? I went with the CX-Ray spokes, again for their aero benefits with the bladed profile, as well as being the lightest steel spokes in the lineup.
